We specialise in British works from the early part of the 20th. Century to the 1970's. We also hold a large eclectic collection sourced from around the world. In 1982, Richard, while employed by Christie’s the Auctioneers, created the Vintage Poster Department. When he left in 1986 to found his own company, Christies asked him to become their Poster Consultant. He advised them until 2004 for all their vintage poster sales worldwide. An association of 28 years, 22 of them as their Poster specialist. Bloomsbury’s Auction House, the UK’s leading book auctioneers invited Richard, in 2006, to join them as their International Consultant and start Vintage Poster sales in the newly created Visual Arts department. There are now two to three sales per annum. Over the past 30 years Richard & Sylvie have built up an international reputation for its expertise. They are well known, both for the quality and diversity of the works that they offer from their Gallery and at major exhibitions and fairs that they attend worldwide. While pursuing their dealership of vintage posters around the world Richard acts regularly as a consultant and valuations advisor to numerous museums and private collections. |
